Subject: | How do you verify your Pitot/Static setup? |
I have flown my Lightning several times and do not have the highest degree
of faith in my ASIs.
I have a small steam gauge ASI and my EFIS. My EFIS is fully adjustable
across the speed range to make up for a pitot/static setup that is not
perfect.
I tee off of each line to go to each instrument.
My question to you all is that once you have you instruments setup, how do
you verify them?
Am I missing anything?
Jim!

Jim,
I generally use two ways. Close formation with an airplane that I
know is accurate - like the Grand Rapids EFIS system in my Esqual, or fly
ing
wind triangle checks using a GPS. One other way that is similar to what
we
talked about last Saturday at Green Landings is outlined at:

Thanks for sharing this John.
I never corresponded with Duane or met him, but feel the loss of someone who
shared our passion.
Deepest condolences to any of Duane's friends or family who may read this
list.
