    Subject: Rain at OSH
Lots of rain at Oshkosh starting about 5 PM local yesterday afternoon, then it slacked off for most of the night. However, today it is a light drizzle that looks like it might last all day. Looks like the kind of day where we sit around under the wing of my buddy from Montana's Noorduyn Norseman and do lots of hangar talk - some might call that BS-ing. I guess it is better to get the rain this week instead of next week. They need the rain here and it will help settle the dust that we have on the dirt roads around the convention site. And speaking of the site, lots of things have changed locations. Most of you have heard about the new main entrance, but the light sport mall has moved as well as the Aeromart and fly market area. IAC building has moved to a new location, but is pretty close to its old location. New roads will help people walking to get places quicker as well as additional trams to catch a ride on. Aircraft parking seems to be the same. How many of you will be here next week? Buz **************What's for dinner tonight? Find quick and easy dinner ideas for any occasion. Thanks for all the updates Buz, it's a few years since I've been to Osh, before the Lightning was a glint in Pete's eye, but I plan to make it next year. I have an interesting weekend if the weather plays ball. There are celebration events all over the weekend to commemorate Bleriot's crossing of the English Channel in 1909. or La Manche as it's known in France (La Manche translates at 'the ditch'). I'm booked in to Calais with 170 other British ULM aircraft (don't tell them I don't fly a ULM). There are additionally 100 French ULM at Berck and also 40 Belgians and some others going into to Calais. There's a hangar party on Friday night. During the weekend there are lots of events on at Dover and Calais, the Patroille de France (French version of Red arrows) and the Rouge Flesch (the British version of the Red arrows). A number of Bleriot replica and 1/2 scale models will make the crossing (20 miles) and an original Bleriot 11 that has survived the 100 years. We then fly back to Blighty (about 350 aircraft) to overfly the field Bleriot landed on. You may recall 'Le Frere Wright' who managed to glide off a hill, Bleriot was a European who 'flew from one country to another' and won 6000 from a newspaper as a prize, a fair sum 100 years ago. We have certainly come a long way in a century and you'll be seeing the latest and the best while I look at the oldest and the most amazing. Imagine what these guys were doing, the Wright's and others, completely new ground, awesome. Anyhow, I hope Osh goes well, give everyone my regards, next year I'll buy the beer (there is beer isn't there?). Pardon Monsieur, une grande Bier pour Moil Sil Vows Plays, and a Coke for the wife.....:-) Regards, Clive http://www.ville-sangatte.fr/pageLibre000108fc.php

Group, Arion Aircraft will be leaving for EAA on Friday the 24th. We will be at the Brennand Airport 79C about 8 miles north of OSH, Friday evening and Saturday. Flight into the show will be on Sunday. Once in the show the aircraft will be parked until we leave. It has been increasingly more difficult each year to perform demos at the show. Any one wanting a demo can get one in the LS-1 N325AL at 79C before the show or in H&S Aviations Lighting experimental any time during the week upon request and scheduling, let us know. If in the Oshkosh area before the Show come up to 79C for "Brennand Days" on Saturday, this is an annual fly in held at the airport every year before EAA, with food, helicopter rides, lots of neat aircraft that stage here before the show, and lots of good ole hanger chat. See ya'll there. Nick Otterback Arion Aircraft, LLC

Great Rick, I look forward to seeing you there. Give me a call on my cell (do you have the number?) and I will try to find you. If I don't answer it probably means I am near an aircraft with the engine running. Leave a message and I will get back to you. Buz **************What's for dinner tonight? Subject: OSH update - Wed PM
The rain finally stopped around noon today and there are some blue holes in the cloud cover. Aircraft are starting to arrive and set up camp. I went into town this morning and noticed that the drive in camping area is filling up nicely. Lots of nice camping trailers and motor homes. Makes my tent seem really small. As a note to all, Nick just reminded me that the Lightning get together at OSH will be at noon on Friday the 31st of July. Everyone should meet at the Lightning booth. This get together is for anyone and everyone interested in the Lightning - not just for current Lightning builders and flyers. These get togethers are always a good way for exchange of information on the Lightning, a good way to meet other enthusiast and Lightning dealers from your part of the country, and of course a chance to ask questions of the "experts" themselves. So put it on your calendar. Also, don't forget the Lightning forum that is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 PM (that's 1730 local for us military types) in the forum pavilion number 5. Everyone should show up for this forum and cheer Nick on as he briefs on the LS-1 and other Lightning news. Blue Skies (were here this afternoon) Buz **************What's for dinner tonight?
