Hey Guys and Gals: I am in the middle of my annual condition inspection. I need to replace my fuel filters, and of course Oshkosh is in full swing, so I only get a recorder at Shelbyville. Can anyone tell me what the fuel filters are that are used in the Lightning? I have one in my hand, and the only markings I can find say made in Brazil. Thanks Lynn Nelsen **************Hot Deals at Dell on Popular Laptops perfect for Back to School

Once again Buz, thanks for the updates from OSH.?? also, I think al will understand if the newsletter is a little late.? BTW, I'm glad all of them are available still; as i remember an article on landing speeds and referred to it again... thanks for all you do. Bear -----Original Message----- From: N1BZRich@aol.com Sent: Wed, Jul 29, 2009 10:33 pm Subject: Lightning-List: Wed even OSH report Another busy day at OSH but I did find the time to get to the Lightning forum this afternoon at 1730L.? I think there were about 35 people in the pavilion, but that included the folks from Tennessee, Green landings, Brennand Airport.? We were lucky enough to have several?builders with flying Lightnings in attendance?- Bill?(his Lightning is actually at OSH), Rick and his wife, and Tex (with a name like that he obviously is from NY).? Hope I didn't forget anyone.? If so, forgive me, it has been a busy time for me since I have been here.? ? Nick and Mark had put together an excellent?power point presentation on the LS-1, its development, and changes from the EAB version.? It seemed to be well received and as a result, not too many questions from the audience.? After the presentation I was able to meet several folks from the Lightning list that seem extremely interested in the Lightning.? That kind of fits from what I am hearing from the Lightning team and the interest level from those people visiting the Lightning booth and the LSA Mall.? Overall I think it is going to be a good show for the Lightning.? ? One other thought - as you all know I normally try to get the newsletter out by the 1st day of each month.? I hope you understand that the August issue will obviously be late by several days because I will not likely get home until the 3rd or the 4th of August at the earliest.? It will then take me several days to put together the info and photos I have from the trip to SYI and then OSH, so this next issue could easily be a week late.? Sorry about that, but since the entire Lightning Newsletter writing and photography staff is on this trip (ME) the late issue is a necessity.? Blue Skies, Buz

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Bear. Now I know at least one person reads it. Seriously, I really believe in the Lightning and the great team of dedicated EAA folks that put it on the market, help to sell and build it, and of course the friendships that we have all formed among those that fly it. A great group of people. Today at OSH, I kind of took most of the day off (it was raining this morning) and took in several forums and walked through the four main exhibit buildings. Then this afternoon watched much of the afternoon airshow and talked with some friends from Australia and some buddies that volunteer in the warbird area. First day I have had a chance to do all of that relaxing stuff. If you are here at OSH, don't forget that noon tomorrow is our annual Lightning enthusiast get together at the Lightning booth at noon. See you there. Blue Skies, Buz **************Hot Deals at Dell on Popular Laptops perfect for Back to School

Paul, I don't mean to be nitpicky, but in order to expedite sourcing of the fuel filter, I discovered that the name of the company is "Redden" Marine. It is amazing what you can figure out with a Google search. Also, Buz, you have a huge audience with the Lightning Newsletter. I value every issue and archive them all for reference. I don't care if the August one is weeks late and even combined with September, just as long as it eventually get published with all its usual valuable and useful information. It is a treasure to any Lightning builder, owner and those anticipating being one.
