Subject: | Non Response to TROLL |
To all forum users.
PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND to this troll message. This troll's posts have the
same content and seasonally pop up like spring, fall, and the Flu Season.
Best way to avoid it is not to feed it and to ignore him. Let's see if (for
the first time), NOBODY WILL RESPOND to him. Even though in essence, this
message is posted as a result of his post, I do not want to try to respond
to him.
There is NOTHING that anyone on this list can say that will make sense to
him. Ignore him and he will go away and then pop up again in another 4-5
months. The best way to fire back is NOT TO POST!
I'm counting on you all. Don't break!
Jim!

While I had no plans to respond to AVN100, I want to respond to the
non-response.
AVN is simply offering a critique of the website....which I dont care
about. Websites are ALWAYS easy to criticise and hard to keep up. And of
course he has some misconceptions about 51% which no amount of persuasion
has changed. So I had no response planned.
But I wonder if I might be the next one boycotted? Or will it be you?
One substance fueled babbling email and we might be banned!!! Or actually
"shunned" , like the Amish do it.
I am on other listserves that have rather abusive posters. Oh well.
They give it out and they get it back. We all make choices about
responding....and we make choices about reading the response. I think some chose
to just delete the email without reading it. For all I know, some will
delete this one when they see it is from me!!!
But I am suggesting we simply ignore goofy content... and not necessarily
shun the writer. And do it on a personal basis not group fiat.

Green Landings was the sight of yet another Lightining first flight this
past week. It was eclipsed by our excitement that Marks Tin Bird flew the
day before. And we all congratulate him on a long and annoying build
that had lots of sass since he built it with our knowledge!! It was a good
job on a not-a-Lightning bird. And we wish him well during the test
phase. (keep those aileron cables tight!!!)
But Ryan Gross turned out a "Best One Yet" for the Green Landings build
center. A Lightning sculpted in British Racing Green with Gold pinstriping.
It had the latest tail mods and special wingtips. That means it had
light ailerons and just a bit heavier elevator control.
I witnessed the first flight and it flew great!! Straight and true from
the get-go!!
The Best One Yet trophy will stand for a couple months until Greg C.'s
bird leaves the nest.
To the contemplating Lightning builders: There is a real advantage to
using a build center. You can take advantage of all the previous
experience and have an airplane to be proud of. It also means that when you
want
to add your special touches, from cupholder to relief tube, it won't take
so long to build.
The plan is to have flown off the restrictions and bring it to Homecoming
Oct 10th.
The plane was going to be the GL Demo, but it is headed south once the
papers are signed.
Congrats to Ryan.

Doug, this will be my only response to you.
You said:

I believe that what I suggested that we do. I think the appeal of non response
is similar to ignore.
I prefer to be able to read this list with constructive, and not abusive comments
which is what this guy is typical of. He then draws both Nick and Pete out
to defend themselves with some very non-respectful statements. Arion has come
a long way and still needs to improve, but they are working hard at it, and
it is evident in everything they do. Sure criticism is good if it is respectful
and constructive. I actually agree with some of the points that he has made
over time, just not the way he makes them. You have been surfing the lists
long enough to understand what a troll is, and know that overall, they are not
good for the health of the list.
If you want to just see messages peak, trolls can be good for that, but they destroy
the well being of the list. Im not shunning or boycotting the writer and
I dont appreciate you putting words in my mouth or misrepresenting my intentions.
If he had posted his response in a way that was constructive and respectful,
Im sure everyone could have benefited somewhat from it. Pick the parts
that you agree with and ignore the parts that you do not. It is the disrespectful
tone that he directs towards the company and anyone that disagrees with
him that I have a problem with.
As far as the other list servers that have these kind of guys posting abusive content,
I try not to frequent or participate in them.
Or will it be you?
You dont have to worry about that Doug. I will unsubscribe from the list and all
Lightning activities so you dont have to worry about me.
Jim!
