Hi Brian, Jim's screens are the 6.5" variety. It would be a bit of a squeeze but I think the 8.4" screens may work. You may have to relocate switches and such. Brian In my spare time I have made several mock panel layouts with the Horizon. I will be looking forward to your write up. When I looked at the GR web site I see that the Horizon HX comes in either 6.5 in or 8.4 in formats. I was not sure if the 8.4 in displays could fit in the Lightning panel. It does in my drawing but anything fits in my drawings. It was one of my primary questions on my list for a flight test when I can find time to make it down to TN for a flight test. Date: Fri, 18 Dec 2009 19:35:58 -0600 Brian, The Horizon EFIS are the larger format screens. As far as I know this is the first installation of such. There are some other benefits that come with these EFIS as well. I'm writing an article for the newsletter right now and that's one of the things that will be in there. I'm sure that Buz is wondering when I'll finally get done with this article. Been a busy year! I think that one way that might make it happen was to add in a "shelf" for switches like on the Cirrus. Just a thought. Brian W.
