Subject: | Oshkosh report #2 |
Hi Buz, thanks for the updates helping with the excitement of our trip
which starts this afternoon when we head for London for an overnight
prior to an early check in for the United flight to Chicago.
The Esqual although finished is now stalled as the engineering company
that did the independent inspection won't now sign as they 'don't know
what they are signing for'.... Further communication between the parties
are required, my fault as getting a permit to fly across a few borders
is an expected complication.
See you soon, Regards, Clive + Shirley

Went downtown this afternoon and made two observations.
One - they are using a large pump to drain the lake on the NW corner
of the north forty. For those of you that know the airport layout,
that is where there was a walk through gate to get to Hardees and other
nearby restraunts. Many airplanes are being parked on the north ramp
where the FBOs are. They have already drained a "lake" in the
campground where the new water and electric hook up were for those
trailers and motorhomes. Forecast is for a chance of more rain tonight
and tomorrow.
Two - there is an unbelievable amount of road construction going on
throughout the area on both sides of US 41. The parallel roads are down
to one lane and many parts are not paved. I just can't imagine the
highway department starting such a large project during the AirVenture
time of the year.
Other than that, it is a beautiful evening.
Blue Skies,
Buz

More rain last night and then again this morning. Lots of standing water
all over the place. If you are not going to fly your Lightning, think
about bringing your experimental Ark. Forecast is for clearing this afternoon,
and in fact, I am starting to see some blue sky now.
See you all next week - be there, aloha.

Not much news to report other than a few of my buddies (from Montana and
Oregon) have flown in. They had to park their airplanes by Aero Shell
Square, but have their tents set up where their airplanes will eventually
end
up. Weather now is over cast but no more rain since mid morning. Below
info
is from an email for volunteers. Some of the info might be helpful.
