Hey Guys/Gals: I am looking to renew my insurance. I had a quote from
someone (In Orlando I think) that was reasonable, but I seem to have misplaced
the email. Can anyone give me a reasonable alternative?

I have a policy with AVEMCO, liability only, that's all they
would write last year, I'm not happy with the premium,
They claimed not enough aircraft to get a sample of liability or hull cost.
They have my Alpi ELSA covered also.
No claims, hangared, multi plane coverage. Still exorbitant. Even with all
the breaks. May be we should exercise
Some collective bargaining. Bob Haas, N 330BH, N 380BH.

Subject: | Oil on top of the dipstick |
How's that for a weird subject line? I've noticed after every flight when I check
my oil that there is oil on top of the dipstick cap.
Imagine what it would look like if you flipped open the access door, and dropped
1 or maybe 2 drops of oil on top of the dipstick cap and waited for it to spread
evenly to the edges. That is what it looks like. It is not just a thin
film.
I don't see oil anywhere else around it. The rest of the engine is very clean,
but there is always that drop of oil on top of the cap.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas as to the cause?

Hey Bill: Pete covered this at the Jabiru get together in June. Several of
the dip stick caps have a problem with oil wicking up the center to the
top. You can fix this by thoroughly cleaning the top of the dip stick and
putting a drop of epoxy adhesive on the center. This will stop the oil from
getting out.

Lynn:
I have been with Cannon Aircraft Insurance for over ten years through three
aircraft. They have been excellent with any claims. My rate for the
Esqual is around $2,200.
My Best,

Awesome! I really need to go to one of the Jabiru engine seminars. Looks like
something I'll take care of next time at the hangar. I assume the problem does
not lead to any chance of the stick separating from cap.

A small amount of JB Weld would probably work better that epoxy on top of t
he leaking oil dip stick. My 2 cents' worth.
