Subject: | [Please Read] - Last Official Day of List Fund Raiser! |
Dear Listers,
Its November 30th and that means at least two things. For better or worse, its
my 47th birthday! But it also means that its that last official day of the
Matronics Email List Fund Raiser! If you been drooling over one of the really
nice gifts that are available this year with a qualifying Contribution, then
now is the time to jump on one!!
If you've been meaning to make a Contribution this month but have been putting
it off for some reason, NOW is the time!
I will be posting the List of Contributors in a few days, so you'll probably want
to be known as a person that supported the Lists!
I want to thank everyone that has so generously made a Contribution this year in
support of our Lists. It is your generosity that keeps this operation running
and I don't ever forget it. Hopefully everyone feels the same.

Subject: | December Lightning Newsletter |
All,
The December 2010 issue of the Lightning Newsletter was sent to the
websites that carry our newsletters Monday night, 29 November. I'm not sure
is all of them have the new issue posted yet, but I am sure it soon will
be. See a synopsis of the December contents below.
Here are the sites where you can read the latest "Hangar Talk" newsletter.

_http://www.greenlandings.com/_ (http://www.greenlandings.com/)
_http://moonshineaviation.com/_ (http://moonshineaviation.com/)
Featured in this issue is Bill Beasley's N226WB, which is this month's
Lightning of the Month. There is also a great write up by Bill about building
his jet and where he lives and hangars it. Beautiful airplane and
beautiful hangar and home. Nice cars in the hangar also.
Next is a recap of this past year's Lightnings of the months with photos
of each monthly winner. Your job is to vote for the one you think should
win "Lightning of the Year for 2010". Just email me directly to cast your
vote: _N1BZRICH@AOL.COM_ (mailto:N1BZRICH@AOL.COM) The January 2011 issue
will announce the winner.
And speaking of the January 2011 issue of the Lightning newsletter, unless
someone steps up to "take the stick", it will be the last issue; certainly
the last issue that I will write. I have written the newsletter for 3
years now and I feel it is time for someone else that actually owns a
Lightning to take over to provide new leadership and new energy. Ol' Buz needs
a
rest.
I will still be occasionally writing for the newsletter, but will leave
the leadership of the newsletter up to the new editor. Who will that be?
Volunteers?
In the News From the Factory section Nick covers some recent changes and I
have also published his recent email about using auto fuel in your
Lightning. My bottom line on that is - don't do it. Overall, you really aren't
saving money with the potential future maintenance issues you will possibly
have.
There are also some great inputs in the other various sections - News from
Builders and Flyers, Flying Safety Tips, Technical Tips, etc. Thanks to
all of you that sent things for the newsletter.
As always, I am requesting feedback on the newsletter and will pass your
suggestions on to the next NCIC - Newsletter Commander in Chief. Remember I
depend on you for content, article suggestions, and your comments for
improvement. Don't be a stranger - write me with your suggestions or just to
say hello.
Blue Skies and happy flying,
Buz Rich

Subject: | Voting for Lightning of the Year |
All,
Votes for Lightning of the Year are starting to come in, and along
with the votes, I have had one question as to exactly who can vote. The rules
are simple; anyone that reads the newsletter can vote - or more
specifically, if they read the December 2010 newsletter article about the Lightning
of the Year, they can vote. So basically, the voting is open to anyone that
is aware of the contest and looks at the photos in the December 2010 issue
to see which Lightning of the Month they would like to see win Lightning
of the Year.
I think the winner last year had his family, friends, and EAA chapter send
in votes, but the final tally was still extremely close. I think this year
will be just as competitive because we have had some really beautiful
monthly winners during the past year.
Just to give me time to compile the votes and write up the article
about the winner in the January 2011 issue, please try to get all votes into
me no later than Monday, 27 December. Thanks.
So send your vote directly to me at: _N1BZRICH@AOL.COM_
(mailto:N1BZRICH@AOL.COM)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Holiday Season.
Blue Skies,
Buz
