The 1/8th scale prototype Tail wheel Lightning flew for the first time today. Performance was as jet like. Cross wind capability is great winds are 220 at 8knts, that comes out be a scale wind of 64knts! Not bad..of course is was doing about 60knts true in flight and that would be 480knts scale.little out of the LSA limit. Nick.

Great Nick, glad you are making progress on the tail dragger version you have been working on for so long. Once you have completed phase one test ing on the scale tail dragger, it should accelerate development of the full size model. And the electric power of the RC model should scale up nicely also for the full scale Lightning. With the price of fuel (both mogas and 100LL) continuing to increase, your work on these future Lightning options will certainly be timely. Are you still planning to make the official announcement on the above things on 1 April - at Sun N Fun? Blue Skies, Buz In a message dated 3/21/2011 5:02:10 P.M. Nick, I have the same kit but have not finished it yet. I will be doing it with the nose gear and in my colors. Hope to have it done by this fall. Tex
