Geoff=2C I used a piece of hose connected to a syrindge and drew (sucked)
out the brake fluid from each wheel one at a time making sure the master cy
clinder does not go dry. Also=2C I found that if you get the system complet
ly bleed the the brakes are very touchy and when trying to add right rudder
for take off=2C seems as if the right brake get engaged also. Nick has a w
ay of letting the T bar lay back some so when you push on the rudder pedals
you are not applying the brakes also. Gary N428GW

Linda:
My thoughts and prayers are with you. While I had only met Joe a very few times,
the conversation was always fun, and I was honored to share with him my thoughts
about aviation, and get his feedback, and hear a few stories...
I am very thankful to Joe for his contributions to aviation, and service to our
country. Blessings be with you...

Geoff,
Try unbolting the bottom of the master cylinders and rotating them up,
so that the MC's are inverted from where they are now. The design of the
cylinder keeps a small pocket of air trapped in the end opposite the
plunger. Also make sure your brake line goes to the bottom of the
caliper as in last months news letter.
We bleed from the bottom up and the MC inverted and lines fitted to the
bottom of the caliper, seems to work fine this way.

Group,
What's the trick to bleeding the dual brake system on the Lightning?
Two attempts today were a failure. I tried "pumping" the fluid in from
the bleed valves. One side (left) seemed to go okay but when the right
side was injected, air appeared in the system (both sides!).
I suspect the problem is that the loops of brake line connecting the two
sides are higher than the master cylinder. Is this correct?.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Gary and Nick,
re: Bleeding Brakes
Thanks for the advice.
I think the problem was the master cylinder (and the "T" connector) below the level
of the brake line loops connecting the two sides. When I raised the MC
(and the "T" connector) well above the rest of the system there was no problem.
Cheers
