Subject: RE: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle
    From: "James, Clive R" <clive.james@uk.bp.com>
That does sound quite low, the sensor should be between the engine fuel pump and the carby. 0.07mb is the square root of * all. Though if you can carry out a 5 min climb at full throttle without the electric pump then I would be happy. The other check to perform is a fuel flow check, this is stipulated by the UK LAA on an aircraft build and checks that your system has excess fuel when it's at full throttle. It is a good check to carry out though it is a bit of a fiddle to do. See the form at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/StandardForms/LAA-I C-FF%20Fuel%20Flow%20Check%20Results.pdf And instructions at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/TechnicalLeaflets/O perating%20An%20Aircraft/TL%202.20%20Fuel%20Flow%20Checking%20of%20Pumped %20Systems.pdf or follow the links on the left from the LAA website Fuel flow form is at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk then 'Forms/checklists' then under inspection, Fuel Flow <http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/StandardForms/LAA- IC-FF%20Fuel%20Flow%20Check%20Results.pdf> (try clicking on this) And the Tech leaflet, instructions for carrying out the checks is at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk then 'technical leaflets' then under operating an aircraft, TL 2.20 <http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/TechnicalLeaflets/ Operating%20An%20Aircraft/TL%202.20%20Fuel%20Flow%20Checking%20of%20Pumpe d%20Systems.pdf> (try clicking on this) Regards, Clive From: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com [mailto:jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of jacques Bascou Sent: 27 December 2011 17:50 Subject: Re: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle Thank's everyone... I had another fly today (it's winter in french...), flying over 2 hours. No problem of pressure. I just set the fuel pressure alarm at 0,07 mB. I don't really understand why fuel pressure goes down with little T=B0, and why when full throttle... I'm positive, thinking I have a lot of things to learn... Thank's for all responses... However, I have never seen any signs of fuel starvation as a result of it. I e-mailed Pete about it and got a response from him asking where my fuel pressure gauge was in the line, so I assume that the placement of the sensor has some impact. Additionally, the opening in the engine installed pump is only 1/4 inch, so there is a little restriction built in. > > Jim Puglise > Europa, Jab 3300 > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Clive R James" <clive.james@uk.bp.com <mailto:clive.james%40uk.bp.com> > > To: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com <mailto:jabiruengines%40yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Tuesday, December 27, 2011 6:00:39 AM > Subject: RE: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle > > > > > > > Fuel pressure is a function of how much the fuel valve in the carby > (assuming you have one) is open. > > So at full throttle the pressure built up by the pump against an almost > fully open float valve will be low. > > It is an normal thing, set your TV screen up so it gives an alarm at > just below what the full flow reading is with only the engine pump. > > Go fly! > > Regards, Clive > > From: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com <mailto:jabiruengines%40yahoogroups.com> > [mailto: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com <mailto:jabiruengines%40yahoogroups.com> ] On Behalf Of jacques Bascou > Sent: 27 December 2011 09:48 > To: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com <mailto:jabiruengines%40yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle > > Yesterday, I wanted to have a long fly. I have a Dynon D60 efis along with an analog airsspeed indicator. The T =0Aconnection is at the efis. While test flying the efis reads 5-8 knots s lower =0Athan the analog guage. The only adjustment Dynon has is the zero set which I =0Ahave done. Any suggestion on how to fix this?=0AJohn Drane =0AN621WV=0A=0A=0A________________________________=0A From: Lightning-List Digest Server <lightning-list@matronics.com>=0ATo: Lightning-List Digest Li st <lightning-list-digest@matronics.com> =0ASent: Wednesday, December 28, 2 011 12:57 AM=0ASubject: Lightning-List Digest: 0 Msgs - 12/27/11=0A =0A*=0A =0A======================== ==0A- Online Versions of Today's List Digest Archive=0A===== =====================0A=0AToday's c omplete Lightning-List Digest can also be found in either of the =0Atwo Web Links listed below.- The .html file includes the Digest formatted =0Ain HTML for viewing with a web browser and features Hyperlinked Indexes =0Aand Message Navigation.- The .txt file includes the plain ASCII version =0Ao f the Lightning-List Digest and can be viewed with a generic text editor =0Asuch as Notepad or with a web browser. =0A=0AHTML Version:=0A=0A- - http://www.matronics.com/digest/digestview.php?Style=82701&View=html&Ch apter 11-12-27&Archive=Lightning=0A=0AText Version:=0A=0A- - http ://www.matronics.com/digest/digestview.php?Style=82701&View=txt&Chapter 11-12-27&Archive=Lightning=0A=0A=0A=========== =============0A- EMail Version of Today's List D igest Archive=0A=================== =====0A=0A=0A- - - - - --------------------------------- -------------------------=0A- - - - - - - - - - - - - Lightning-List Digest Archive=0A- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ---=0A- - - - - - - - - - Total Messages Posted Tue 12/27/11: 0=0A- - - - - - ---------------------------------------------------------=0A=0A=0AToday's M - - - - - - - - - - - - -Matt Dralle, List Admin. =========================0A ===================
