Though if you can carry out a 5 min climb at full throttle without the electric pump then I would be happy. The other check to perform is a fuel flow check, this is stipulated by the UK LAA on an aircraft build and checks that your system has excess fuel when it's at full throttle. It is a good check to carry out though it is a bit of a fiddle to do. See the form at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/StandardForms/LAA-I C-FF%20Fuel%20Flow%20Check%20Results.pdf And instructions at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/TechnicalLeaflets/O perating%20An%20Aircraft/TL%202.20%20Fuel%20Flow%20Checking%20of%20Pumped %20Systems.pdf or follow the links on the left from the LAA website Fuel flow form is at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk then 'Forms/checklists' then under inspection, Fuel Flow (try clicking on this) And the Tech leaflet, instructions for carrying out the checks is at http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk then 'technical leaflets' then under operating an aircraft, TL 2.20 (try clicking on this) Regards, Clive From: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com [mailto:jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of jacques Bascou Sent: 27 December 2011 17:50 Subject: Re: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle Thank's everyone... I had another fly today (it's winter in french...), flying over 2 hours. No problem of pressure. I just set the fuel pressure alarm at 0,07 mB. I don't really understand why fuel pressure goes down with little T=B0, and why when full throttle... I'm positive, thinking I have a lot of things to learn... Thank's for all responses... However, I have never seen any signs of fuel starvation as a result of it. I e-mailed Pete about it and got a response from him asking where my fuel pressure gauge was in the line, so I assume that the placement of the sensor has some impact. Additionally, the opening in the engine installed pump is only 1/4 inch, so there is a little restriction built in. > > Jim Puglise > Europa, Jab 3300 > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Clive R James" > > To: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com > Sent: Tuesday, December 27, 2011 6:00:39 AM > Subject: RE: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle > > > > > > > Fuel pressure is a function of how much the fuel valve in the carby > (assuming you have one) is open. > > So at full throttle the pressure built up by the pump against an almost > fully open float valve will be low. > > It is an normal thing, set your TV screen up so it gives an alarm at > just below what the full flow reading is with only the engine pump. > > Go fly! > > Regards, Clive > > From: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com > [mailto: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com ] On Behalf Of jacques Bascou > Sent: 27 December 2011 09:48 > To: jabiruengines@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [jabiruengines] fuel pressure with full throttle > > Yesterday, I wanted to have a long fly.
