It shows how to make cone-shaped air draft covers from sail cloth that cover the hole in the fuselage and wrap around the stick. They still allow full aileron push rod deflection. These are on an RV-6, I believe, but can be used on the Lightnings easily. A paint strainer cone was cut, opened and used for a template. Check it out. I was in the process of making air dams for the flap controls when I thought of increasing the air flow OUT of the cabin. I put a vent in the rear bulkhead of the baggage compartment, and the cold air problem went away. So I never finished the air dams. Lynn In a message dated 2/5/2012 8:46:27 A.M.
