    Subject: left hand throttle
Most of the throttles we use are the 48" long ACS Cessna type. They can be cut to a specific length and will go around most mild corners. I believe we have them in stock however they can be purchased from Aircraft spruce. I would love to modify my Lightning that way. I was finally able to solo my little bird last week and have had three days were I was able to take up and play. 52 over the numbers and keeping from landing until it settles works well, no more bounce. Mike Ryan N1976N _____ From: N1BZRich@AOL.COM Subject: Re: Lightning-List: left hand throttle Hi George, I totally agree, most of my 8,000 hours of flying time is with the stick in the right hand and the throttle in the left, so that is the way I set up my cockpit back in 2005 when building N31BZ - photo below. I just added the same type of throttle on the left and routed it through the firewall to connect to the carb right next to the other throttle push/pull cable. It has worked great for over 800 hours. Plan on the first weekend in October this year. Most people will arrive on the afternoon of Friday, 4 October, and depart Sunday the 6th. Friday evening will probably be hangar activities like a cookout and creeper races and maybe even some beer tasting. Of course the big day for activities (probably a breakfast fly out, the annual air race, and other flying events plus various Lightning briefings) will be Saturday. Saturday evening is normally a get together at a local restaurant in Bell Buckle. It is always a great event with a chance to meet others from the Lightning community, fly demo flights, and get the latest info from the factory guys. Group, Just to confirm from us as well that this will be the weekend of the Lightning Fly-in. I would like to add that we will be introducing 2 new games to the evening activities. We had an evening out at EAA at Ricks place (Custom fiberglass) and found these to be a hoot. One will be an oversized version of Jenga, a block stacking game. When I mean oversized I mean play on the hangar floor and get out of the way when it falls. The Other will be "Thunder Cups" this involves some of our favorite drinking tools , solo cups, some fiberglass rods and a Frisbee. This is a team game, don't ask how to play I cant explain just show up and find out. Other wise we will have all the normal activities and flying fun.
