Lightning Group,
Attached is the latest Lightning Newsletter. I had delayed publishing it
from the 4th quarter of 2013 in order to include a full flight test report
on the new Lightning XS with the Superior O-320, 160 HP engine.
Unfortunately, circumstances such as weather and supplier delays have prev
ented the
Lightning XS from being totally ready for the complete flight tests. Nick
and I agreed that there was no reason to fly the test profiles unless the
XS
was in its final configuration to include all gear leg fairings and wheel
pants. We hope that is the case early next week when I=99ll be in T
ennessee
before we all head to Sun N Fun. And yes, the Lightning XS will be flown
to Lakeland to be on display at Sun N Fun. You can look forward the readin
g
the flight tests report in the newsletter after this one which will be
written and published by the new editor, Dennis Wilt. Dennis=99 fir
st Lightning
Newsletter will also include coverage of Sun N Fun.
This newsletter issue, the last that I will write, includes coverage of
the 2013 Lightning Homecoming from last October and the Sebring Light Sport
Expo from this past January. As usual it also included updates from the
factory, inputs from builders and flyers, and tech tips from Lightning
builders.
Speaking of Sun N Fun, I hope to see many of you there. It is always a fun
event and a chance to catch up with Lightning builders and flyers and to
meet potential future customers. For those of you that will be there, be
sure to plan on attending one of the two Lightning Forums that are
scheduled. The first one is Thursday, 3 April at 1200 in room 7 in the fo
rum
building, and the second one is on Saturday, 5 April at 1:00 in room 3. A
s
usual, there will also be a Lightning meeting for everyone interested in t
he
Lightning at the booth at noon on Friday. But don=99t hesitate to co
me by the
booth every day to say hello and meet other members of the =9CLightn
ing Family=9D
. You might even see the newest Lightning =9CJet=9D.
Blue Skies,
Buz Rich

I also hope to see many of the Lightning family at Sun-n-fun and Airventure

Again, thanks for all you've done!
