Subject: | Lightning Jet empty weight |
Hi,
My D-ELIY was propably the Heavyweight Champion!
The precision scales provided by my Examiner showed 410kg / 903lbs empty
incl. unusable fuel. Apparently the result of a very generous car
painter`s paintjob. White, then design, then clear coat.
D-EGFL will be somewhat better, although not lighter, of course, due to
the increased weight of ULP.390 engine and steel gear legs. But a friend
has spent hours of hard work to sand off about 40lbs of Gelcoat, and
the painter was reminded to keep the paint thin.
If I can keep it under 425kg /935lbs empty I`m happy. MTOW will be
700kg/ 1540lbs.
