Group,
last week my Lightning XS D-EGFL, kit 162, left the room known as Gerd
Nowack Aerospace and was, with the help of friends and relatives,
dragged out of Uli`s and my backyard garden. After passing the rather
tight garden gate I could put the main gears on, and could remove the
wooden rack. Now my fuselage sits on its wheels in my garage, where I
complete some more tasks before its off to the airfield hangar, where
the wings are already waiting. Propably next week.
Yesterday I filled all the holes in my Inst panel and powered it up. All
worked fine, no funny smells! **
Here is a picture of the panel. Note the single stick and the modified
fuel panel. And note the two digital Volt indicators that will help the
pilot to supervise the state of the dual electrical system. No more dry
batteries!
Greetings from Germany`s sunny but somewhat cool (only 66F today) early
summer!
Gerd
** ps. Do you know the most important part of every electrical
component? -Its smoke!
When the smoke gets out, it doesn`t work anymore!

Gerd,
Thanks for the update. It really looks good. I bet you're excited to get
it out to the hangar and marry it up to the wings. Good luck with the conti
nued build.
BTW, I have just recently relocated my Jet from St Pete International Airpo
rt to Brooksville - Tampa Bay Regional (about 30 miles north of Tampa. We
are in the process of building a new home there and a hangar came availabl
e; so my jet is in its new home, but I'm not...
