Hi Guys and Dolls,
Today I have the pleasure to announce that kit no. 162, D-EGFL aka White
Lightning is complete. Well , not completed, though. The wheel pants are
still missing, there will be time for that during winter, but as she
stands there she is ready to fly. It took me and other helping hands
1106 hrs all together to come this far.
Now the Examination and Certification for the Permit To Fly comes
next. If all runs along smooth I estimate the first flight will happen
come November. Or so.
The pic shows the cowling sanded and spray painted and fixed to the
fuselage. Notice the NACA scoop air inlet for the engine air - no airbox
for the fuel injected ULPower engine!
And also notice the pure length of the Schnozzle, undisturbed by any
bumps which was made possible by a built to order prop shaft.
248.5 inches = 20ft 8.5" is the overall length.
The 2nd pic shows wife Uli fixing a 2" SCAT tube over a 2.02"
copilot`s fresh air NACA scoop and cussing. In German!! Which is why
Italian Greyhound Bella looks a little disturbed.
Greetings from sunny but SummersAlmostGone-wise Hessen. ( Anybody
remember that Doors song?)
Gerd

Hey Gerd: She looks fantastic. Bella looks like she is ready to go flying
anytime.
Good Luck on the inspection and Certificate.

Congratulations Gerd.
If I remembered the song, I'd be dating my self....(oh wait, I'm a pretty good
date)
Maybe Bella is nervous, but hey, she's sitting in it, so she can't be that disturbed!
Continued success with the Certification process.
Bear
