Steve,
glad you were able to get the film off. As I recall, it did take me a little while
too to scrape the film off the entire canopy. I do think the canopy was
relatively new and the film hadn't "hardened", but it was tedious.
Continued luck with your build...

Bear thanks for the suggestion I made up a plexi glass scraper out of a cut off
piece of the canopy, did get a few light scratches using it but was able to polish
them out with metal polish. It was a really slow and tedious job. I am sure
it was so because the film had been on the canopy for a long time and had
hardened on there. If anyone has an older kit with the canopy still protected
I would remove it and reapply a new thick coat Aircraft Spruce seem to have it.

Steve, I scrapped mine at the factory. they had a scraper which I believe was made
out of Plexiglas and worked perfectly. Check with Nick.
He might be able to give you more info, since this was several years ago.

Subject: Lightning-List: Canopy Protective Coating
Hello Group,
Has anyone had success with removing the protective coating on the canopy bubble
other than with your thumb nail. Its easy where the coating is thick but
on the inside it is really thin and almost impossible to get off.
Cheers
