My p al generator was installed without the forward support (p/n Sc9125). I purc hased a replacement drive and front support thru Moravia and have had no pr oblems since. I was planning on replacing the PAL generator when it gave me problems, but so far it has been giving good service (250hrs.). You might be able to get away without supporting one of the small orange ma gnet alternators, but I would think the B&C would need some kind of support . The drive housing is a fairly light Magnesium casting about 3/16th thick where mine broke. * Luke S.
