Subject: | Drilling exhaust for EGT |
--> LycomingEngines-List message posted by: "Ralph E. Capen" <recapen@earthlink.net>
Fellow listers,
I'm getting ready to drill into my Vetterman exhaust to install the EGT transducers
for my VM1000 engine monitor.
I've already got some of the CHT transducers wired and working so I think I have
my transducer wiring technique working.
Other than drilling them the same distance down from the head mounting flange and
staying away from the spark plugs, I haven't been able to find any info on
the best place to drill the holes. Even though straight outboard looks like a
great place to put them - I'm wondering about the cowl (I have a Sam James Cowl).
Anyone out there have any photos of what worked well for them?
Kinda scary - drilling holes in an exhaust system...don't they leak?
Thanks,
Ralph Capen
