Subject: IO 360-A2A cylinder stud care
I'm starting reassembly on my engine and from the looks of it, the
cleaning, inspection and alodining process has left some crud in the 1/2
x 20 and 3/8 x 24 cylinder stud threads. Is this a wire brush job? or
can I chase them out with the appropriate threading die? I spun a
couple of the old hold down nuts on for each size, and they go on
smoothly, but I'm suspicious of the gunk. Sorry if this is redundant.
