>From your description you are looking at the wrong end.
The threaded hole is located at the front of the Carb. It should unscrew
pretty easy with the proper size Allen Wrench or sometimes there is a
Square headed plug.
Use Anti-Seize when installing since you will have S/S against Aluminum.
