Subject: | Replacement bolts for lifting rings |
Does anyone have the correct designation number for the through bolts for the lifting
rings?
I would like to remove the lifting rings and replace with the next size shorter
bolts and nuts.
Thanks,
Ralph Capen

Morning, Ralph...
Not sure which engine you have, as you used the plural of
ring...I only have one ring on my O-235 (HAD one ring). It was
mounted with one of the case half bolts, so when I removed it, I
just measured the existing case half bolt in the next hole over
and used that size AN bolt/nut to replace the longer one that
held the ring in place.
Larger engines may have a different attach method, however, so
this may not apply in those cases.

IO360B1F6...two rings. One forward and one aft - on case half bolts like your
single.
I would like to replace it with similar (coarse thread) about three sizes shorter.
Thanks.
