Subject: Governor Mounting Studs
I have a narrow deck IO-0540 J4A5 that I'm using for my RV-10 project. The governor
mounting studs were too short for the MT governor that I am installing,
so I ordered longer studs and removed the old ones. The problem I'm having is
that with the new studs, I can't get the required torque on them before they
bottom out. Seems like a simple problem, but I'd sure hate to see the governor
come loose in flight.
Any help would be appreciated.
