Capen" Subject: LycomingEngines-List: Questions from my 'annual' As part of my recent 'annual', I swapped the plugs upper for lower after cleaning and regapping. The #2 lower plug looked like some of the plating was peeling from the outside of the body. The uppers looked brand new. Is this 'plate-peeling' indicative of excessive heat at the plug - or maybe a defect in manufacturing? The CHTs all run between 350 and 375 and within five degrees of each other so I am leaning to a manufacturing defect.... Further along in the inspection process, the #1 intake tube from the head to the intake/sump is marked as "AEL70485 Rev C" but the rubber tube that connects the two appears to be short. Is the intake tube the correct number? Where can I get the material that the rubber connecting tubes are made from in bulk? It looks like reinforced radiator hose - with an aircraft part number. I would like to make that one a quarter inch longer - unless the metal tube is the wrong one and too short. Low time IO360B1F6 - fairly regularly run. Compression tests - 79/80 on all four. Oil temps 180-190. RV6A with Sam James cowl and plenum. LASAR ignition and AFP injection. Turning a MTV12B 183-59 three blade MT prop. Thoughts please, Ralph ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message lycomingengines-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/LycomingEngines-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/lycomingengines-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/lycomingengines-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
