Subject: | Re: Roller tappets and NiC3 cylinders |
FWIW, I added the roller tappets and the NiC3 cylinders to my engine order.
I went out to the hangar yesterday and everything was wet due to 100% relative
humidity. The wing, the floor, everything was so wet that water beaded up wherever
I touched a surface. It was IFR and perfect icing conditions so a no flying
day. I figure this engine needs these options due to extended unplanned activity
sitting in my unheated hangar. Im getting these options to help protect
against rust, not to increase the power or decrease friction. I was hoping to
hear of others experience with these options.
FYI, Harrison Engine Service, the aircraft cylinder shop, told me that their shop
is unable to re-hone NiC3 cylinders as they are too hard. If they ever get
to the point where they need it, they cant be fixed.
