I am Building a Murphy Moose with an M14P engine and need a
recommendation for installing an air cleaner.

Can anyone spec out the proper air cleaner to be used with the M14P?

        Thanks for you help.

      Doug,

How is the turbo Moose coming along? Is it flying? We are getting
close on ours, but received a setback when we found that our prop
will be eight to 10 weeks before delivery. Now we are casting around
to find another one. Preferably one we could rent, beg, or borrow
until we receive ours, or buy a replacement if necessary. Have you
heard of any just floating around in the M-14 world? Here are the
specs of the one that we ordered:Type: MTV-9-B-C-R(M)/CRL250-29
      >+ Spinner Assy P-617
      >+ Reverse Governor P-970-22
      >+ Reverse Kit P-718-X
of course, we don't absolutely need the reverse Governor or kit, but
if we were ordering a new one, we decided it would be a good idea.

      All the best,
      Bob Tripp

Good to hear from you Bob! Yes, the T-Moose is flying; has about 125
hours on it and it's doing great. Incredible performance....take-off in
450', land in 500', climb 3400 fpm to 10,000 feet, and gets off the
water in seven seconds! It won Best Metal Floatplane at SNF this year,
and is now for sale because we're building another airplane for the
owner. Kitplanes did a story on it at SNF, look for it in an upcoming
issue. There are some photos in the gallery at www.ripleyair.com.

We took the Moose to a local gathering recently and backed into a
parking spot. Someone asked us why we backed it in, the answer was
      "BECAUSE WE CAN!"

The new airplane began life as a Lockheed AL-60 (google it). He bought
it with a M-14P installed and an Experimental Amateur Built
airworthiness certificate. We're installing a PT6-20 (same engine as
the T-Moose) and putting it on amphibs. Might have this one at OSH this
year. The Moose will also go unless it sells before then.

The M14P that came off the Lockheed is now mine. It went to Barrett's
www.bpaengines.com for their new pistons, bottom end inspection, and
some BLING! They had it on display at SNF. It's going in my Pitts
      Model 12.

I don't know of a MT prop available right now, but I have one of the
Russian props that I'll be selling soon. You wanna run it for a while?

      Doug
