Why would my Yak 52 m14p lose power?

      Hello Guys
      
          Any idea why I lost power and had to make a forced landing ,because when crossing
      midfield for landing, the motor lost power when I throttled back. It never
      totally died and it regained power once on the ground after a few minutes
      and then it powered up and ran just fine?
      
      It has some Les Crowder mods on it, and I am not sure if those mods change the
      normal operations of the mp14.
      
          I would ask Les Crowder if he were still with us. I have been asking around
      and have had some great advice from some very nice Yak people.
      Just not sure if I am safe. I have been flying a Mooney and a V-Tail, this is so
      different.
      
      Now I am afraid to fly until I feel like I have found the answer. It reminds me
      of a carb ice situation. 
      
      Who around the North Texas area would the right person to pay to go through the
      motor and check things out for me?
