Subject: | sensors & probes |
I've ordered an I-K Technologies' AIM-3000 engine monitor for an
M-14PF, and some questions have come up about the sensors and probes. I'm
hoping someone here can help.
Regarding the RPM sensor, Ralph at I-K Tech writes: "We will provide
a VDO sensor with a 1/8-27 NPT thread." Does this sound right?
He's also asking me what size oil temp probe I want. Since we'll be
converting to western hoses and AN fittings, I assume that any temp probe
that can fit a AN Tee fitting would work. If someone has already done this
and knows what works well, I'd be appreciative for some guidance.
Thanks,
Loray Greiner

Thanks Bill
So #12 is the right size of fittings, did you go with aluminum fittings, and did
you go with fittings that you make yourself? And the #4 line , is it for the
clean kit that uses the scavange pump, and is that all that it hooks up to?

Henry, I use three 90 aluminum fittings and the rest straight and yes its
better to custom make yourself with caution of not to kink the steel braided
hose in curves.I only used steel bulkhead fittings for fuel lines through
the firewall which my inspector wanted .The scavenging system goes from the
front nose of the engine to the scavening pump and the to the external oil
tank.Hope that helps.
