I have been unable to develop full power on a homebuilt with a M14P. Can only
get fuel flow to about 16 gph (both static and high speed taxi) with full rpm
and only 24 mp. Have checked the fuel supply and boost to the fine screen and
get up to 50 gph with the boost pump to that point.
Is this a problem with pressurizing the carb and/or an aneroid problem?
Thanks for any help.
Brent

the engine?

A few things to consider.
Have you comfirmed the fuel flow numbers are correct and transducer is c
aliberated ?
Confirmed the RPM reading is correct? have ya used an optical tach to te
st ?
I think you have the 360 HP motor as 24" is darn close to what you would
see at DIJ's elevation, this seems to comfirm you don't have an intake
track restriction issue either.
If the motor is fresh and putting out 360 at sea level your 16 GPH is no
t that far off. Up here your 360 is about 295 HP or so and 17-19 is the
GPH numbers you should be seeing.
