Subject: | RE: M14PEngines-List Digest: 3 Msgs - 02/10/11 |
Hi=2C
Thanks for the information=2C 2.5 X the engine RPM.
I am using an Odyssey MGL EFIS =2C it can accept a variety of signal of man
y type=2C I am actually using a tacho generator 2 pole AC generator on the
air starting distributor which is half the speed of the engine. it is to sl
ow and I dont have a good steady reading below 1000 RPM. Also with a low fr
equency the Odyssey is slow to update the reading=2C I am told that it woul
d be improved using a higher frequency.
My alternator is a Jasco 24V unit=2C I think the rotor have 6 poles=2C with
a stator connection point I should get a good 3 voltage pulses per turn in
regard to the engine ground=2C X 2.5 this will give me 7.5 pulses per engi
ne turn. This should improve the low range and overall response of my readi
ngs.
Thanks again.
Sylvain
Murphy Moose.

Subject: | V530 Composite Blades and Spinners |
Hello, this is Patti at Whirl Wind Propellers.
At the request of one of the list members, I am posting this information for the
new composite blades and spinners now available for the V530 propellers. I
hope you all find this information useful, and if you have any questions, please
feel welcome to call or email anytime.
Whirl Wind is now shipping the new composite W530 propeller blades which are a
direct replacement for the wood V530 propeller blades as well as the 20" diameter
composite spinner that works with either the V530 or W530 blades.
http://www.whirlwindpropellers.com/v530/index.html
W530 Composite Blades
The new WhirlWind W530 all-composite blades are designed to fit the existing V530
propeller hub on M-14P engine powered aircraft. The W530 blades have an updated
blade twist distribution, new airfoils and a unique profile to give improved
take-off, climb, and cruise performance with smooth quiet operation. The unique
Whisper Tip scimitar blade planform reduces aerodynamic transonic drag,
increases efficiency and reduces prop noise. This means more performance for your
airplane, and less noise from the propeller.
The W530 has an increased diameter of 98.5 (250cm) which translates to better climb
performance. There is also a 6 lbs weight savings with the new W530 blades.
The picture below shows the new W530 blades installed on Ryan Carroll's Yak 52.
Ryan has done some test flying to compare the V530 and W530 blade performance.
He is on this list and would probably be a good resource to answer questions
regarding performance or installation of the W530 blades.
New W530
Diameter: 250 cm (98.5 inches)
Construction: Thermo-set Aerospace Graphite composite
Leading Edge: Flush bond Nickel
Weight: 15.5 lbs
(6 lbs savings per set)
Original Wood V530

Leading Edge: Riveted Multi-piece Stainless
Weight: 18.5 lbs
Spinners
We also have a new composite 20" diameter spinner that will turn your trainer into
a fighter. The spinner comes with front & rear bulkheads installed, nutplates
installed. The spinner will arrive fitted & trimmed with a primer coat ready
for paint. The current price is $1,500 USD plus shipping.
Please feel welcome to call or email me with any questions and I would be happy
to talk with you.
