Do you have an intake drain kit? If you do not, you need to install one. They are very important. If you have one, you can prime the crap out of the engine (over-prime it intentionally) and the excess fuel will just run right out of the open intake drain kit. Prime the living daylights out of it, go back and pull the prop through a few blades (be real careful here because you can start this engine in a heartbeat if the P leads are not right!) and then watch the excess fuel run out the intake drain valve. Doing this accomplished a few things. 1. It shows that the intake drain is working and is not clogged up with oil. If fuel comes out, there is no more oil to DRAIN out, and that is a good thing. 2. It gets fuel into the cylinders and lets it cook for a little while. Close the intake drain valve. Get in the airplane and crank with the throttle just slightly off the stop. Be ready to shoot some prime when it starts, especially if it is cold weather. It will start almost instantly. If you go more than two blades with no firing, then repeat the process. Don't just keep spinning the engine, you will run out of air. This all adds time to the starting process, but it WORKS. I'll try that, when I start it up . Last year it shot fire from the exhaust when it started, all the guys thought it was mighty robust to say the least. Thanks for all the help guys .
