Please rate from best to worst for use in the 260hp AI-14R (Wilga) engine. Also, how do they rate for use in the M14P? -------- Tracy Cloud 9 Field Michigan cloud9sa@aol.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=366694#366694 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 05:55:32 AM PST US From: "George Coy" Subject: RE: M14PEngines-List: Rate 100LL, 93/93 Autogas (10% ethanol) & 91 Mogas for A Stay away from the fuel with ethanol. It will damage the rubber bits in the fuel system. My personal opinion is use 100LL or a mix of 100LL and the 91 MOGAS. These engines were developed around the use of leaded fuels. -----Original Message----- From: owner-m14pengines-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-m14pengines-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of cloud9sa Sent: Monday, February 20, 2012 8:36 AM Subject: M14PEngines-List: Rate 100LL, 93/93 Autogas (10% ethanol) & 91 Mogas for A I have 100LL, 93/93 Autogas (10% ethanol), and 91 Mogas (no ethanol) in my area. I believe the M-14P is rated to run on 91 octane minimum. However, I seem t o remember that aviation fuel octane calculation is different than auto fue l octane rating. When I had my Yak-52 I ran 100LL and 93 Mogas (no ethanol) in a 50/50 blend and never had any issues. The Mogas was about a dollar ch eaper than the 100LL. I run unleaded 98 since two years and 250hours...nothing different. I just pay attention to water contamination but as I fill up my taks I have never seen water in it. Only issu is when the weather is warm I have, rarely but sometime, vapor locks either in the manual pump before stating or at full power on take off. When that happens I just just interrupt an go back to the holding point, make new test run and take off.
