Subject: | M14P Oil System Temp Reading Location |
Good morning --
Trying to get the recommended location for oil system temp probe(s).
Manual says: Recommended Engine Inlet temps: 122-149F
Maximum permissable engine outlet oil temp: 257F
I have a Peterson Fluid Systems tank with a probe port for the EI MVP50 monitor
in the bottom half of tank, approximately 3.5 inches above the -12 oil outlet
port. If I understand the oil system correctly, the next point after the oil
leaves the tank is the engine driven oil pump.
Where are folks (Yaks, Moose, Radial Rocket, etc.) placing probes? More than one?
Cliff has recommended a MoCal AOT2 thermostat. Is there a location there folks
are monitoring?
Also, is the cooler placed before the filter or filter before cooler?
Thanks very much for any notes / comments --
