Subject: | Re: NO OIL PRESSURE |
I would propose checking that the oil tank is delivering oil by undoing
its outlet pipe. Then assuming that is the case, I would put a simple
and crude pipe going directly to the oil pump, bypassing filters et
cetera. In this way you will know that the oil is getting to the engine.
And then try a start.

Best of luck. This sounds EXTREMELY frustrating. Would it be possible to
push a flexible borescope line through one side of each hose?
Just spitballing here, trying to figure out if an external feed could be
fed to oil pump to verify proper operation. I'd have to go look at my
engine. Also the thought of bypassing the oil filter and even the oil
cooler looking for flow somehow.
Perplexing.

Thanks fro the reply Mark,
I will definitely check that out next.
I know oil is getting from the tank to the oil sump/filter and when the
filter is pushed in oil is filling the filter housing, a lot of the
hoses are difficult to get to and so when I had the oil filter out of
the housing I was able to push a smaller hose straight up through the
bottom of the filter housing and through the oil hose that goes from the
filter to the oil pump. I just cannot understand why oil does not seem
to leave the oil filter to fill the hose that goes to the pump. I also
dissconected the hose from the pump and no oil would come out. Shouldnt
head pressure from the oil tank naturally fill the hose from the filter
to the pump, both of which is lower than the supply tank? It seems so
basic but I think i am missing something. I really think my problem
will be the oil supply line of something with the oil filter, as I
cannot get oil to leave the oil filter housing.
I will not be able to do any troubleshooting for a couple weeks so I
want to get some ideas to try when i get back home. But if something
else does not come up I will start at the oil tank and start removing
hoses to see if I may have ledt a plug or something in.
Thanks
Todd
