Subject: INSURANCE
We are about to start flying our Mysterious Moose, serial number 252. We
have only found one underwriter will insure us, US Specialty, a division
of Houston Casualty. Apparently there's no competition in the market.
Not surprising; how many companies are willing to insure a kit built
experimental six place airplane on amphibious floats, flown by three low
time seaplane pilots. After the first 40 hours are flown off, if we want
hull coverage for $300,000 it would be just over $17,000.
So, anybody out there have some comparable figures?
