*Good morning Henry,
By what you're describing, the primer pump was left on continuously during
start and the engine may have hydrolocked from too much fuel.
If you have the spark plug timing tool you can use it to determine if a
hydrolock has occurred.
We use about a 10mm spacer threaded onto the tool and bring the #4 cylinder
to TDC and make a mark on the scale.
Then install the tool into Cyls 5,6, & 7. respectively and measure the scale
readings at TDC.
Any more than 6 "tic" marks variation from the #4 scale mark is cause for
inspection.
