Wow, great info Mike. Thanks for getting and typing all that. Most of the
numbers look close to what I have, I'll have to play with the elevator a bit
though. I have about -21 and +22. My panel sticks out a bit and my seats
are thick but I can bias the elevator up a little. Like you said, I was
hoping the last few degrees weren't that important. The airlerons sound the
same as mine, and I have more than enough rudder travel. I'm impressed with
the weight - you are right on the factory 800 lbs. Mine is very heavy,
mainly because of the subaru and also some other options.
It's ready to fly now, I've been taxi testing and waiting for the FAA to
sign it off. In the U.S., we can get a DAR or FAA guy to inspect it. The
FAA is free but may take a while and the DAR (Designated Airworthiness
Representative) is usually around $500. Right now I'm thinking I should
have paid the money. It was supposed to be inspected by the end of Oct,
then last Friday, then tommorow but I still haven't heard from him. A
fellow Pelican builder/flyer offered to test fly it for me so I'll call him
whenever the inspection passes.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the plane Mike, I'm looking forward to visiting
the factory also. If it all goes well, I may try to make Sun'N'Fun in the
spring.
Fly safe,
Gary
