--> Pelican-List message posted by: mike macleod <macleod@eagle.ca> Gary: Still on the list. Plane is in the garage for the winter. I will be getting it out at the end of March. Hope to fly to Moosonee (James Bay) this spring and Vancouver in early summer. Have you got any plans for 2005? Over the winter I added an air control damper for the oil cooler. If it works I will add a similar control for the carb heat system. My nose gear indicator was very useful in that when I thought the nose wheel was cocked in flight it turned out that it wasn't. It always drops into the slot, usually before liftoff. I am not sure why I had the strong sensation that something was out of alignment even after reducing power for level flight. I visited Ultravia last fall, about 2 months after their fire, saw the prototype certified Pelican fly. The factory was very busy. Mike Pelican PL 912S

Mine gets that way on takeoff and I usually have to kick my rudder then it straightens out. I still don't have a fix or proof of exactly what's happening but it sure makes sense that it's the nosegear not seating. Interesting. I'm in Hawaii until sep 05 then back to RI. After that, I'd like to plan some weekend flights.
