I am requesting your help in figuring out what color to paint my tailwheel dolly/pull cart. Friend Earl Myers built this thing and then sold all his planes and gave me this item for the Piet. It's basically a two-wheeled (spoked garden cart type wheels) steel tube affair that latches onto your tailwheel/tailspring and has a t-handle on the other end so you can pull/push your plane around. It's ready to go but it's red to match his old Scout. My dominant colors are navy and white, with a bit of orange trim........SO I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what color spray paint to pickup at Wal Mart to give this thing an Earl Sheib paint job. Any ideas ? Pilots are notorious for generating some of the most revolting paint schemes in all the world, so any help from you guys who have a good eye for this kind of thing would be appreciated. Basic black works. So does white. How about that disgusting "Powermatic yellow/green"? It would look equally revolting against ANY airplane color? Greg Cardinal in Minneapolis P.S. What's up with Earl Meyers? He used to be very active on this list when it was run by Steve E. >>> Michael.D.Cuy@grc.nasa.gov 03/26/03 07:23AM >>> --> Pietenpol-List message posted by: Michael D Cuy Group ! You could use this cart on more planes than mine, but you'd have to make a special 'shoe' for each to attach it to the tailwheel or spring. This one will be dedicated to the Piet only. Custom fit kinda thing. The neutral color suggestions is a good idea too. Thanks ! Mike C. Allows good visibility on the ground for any aircraft that my be in close proximity and when it's in the hanger with all the other stuff that seems to accumulate over time. Just my idea. Just don't forget the number! Paint it blue with a 3" wide white band 6" down from the handle. Then paint 1/4" red bands at each end of the white.
