The Piets and others like you named seem to have a soul. Guess thats what it is, I don't know. walt I LOVE RV's like of planes, but how many rows of > those at Oshkosh do you walk right by. It is pretty tacky that he sells them. chris bobka -----Original Message----- From: owner-pietenpol-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-pietenpol-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of walter evans Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: plans --> Pietenpol-List message posted by: "walter evans" Scott, Yeah, that's probably a good idea. Nice to keep giving support to the Pietenpol family. They could just as easily get out of the flying thing and leave the tradition high and dry. Just got back from flying all around the valley to the tune of 3/4 hours. Still pecking away at the 25 fly off hours. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, for phase 2. walt ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alex Sloan" Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: plans > --> Pietenpol-List message posted by: "Alex Sloan" > > Scott, > You may want to consider sending Don Pietenpol an E-mail requesting his > plans availability. Subject: Re: Pietenpol-List: substituting 7075 T6 aluminum for 4130 steel --> Pietenpol-List message posted by: flyboy_120@webtv.net (Ed G.) Hi DJ ..... After struggleing through my first fittings I started cutting everything with a $10.00 10" carborundum metal cutting blade from Home Depot mounted in an old table saw. It cuts 4130 like butter, you just have to take it slow so you don't heat the pieces up too much ( I'm not sure that really matters) If you're concerned you could always normallize the pieces afterwards. It dosen't hurt the table saw so I now wouldn't be afraid to temporarily mount the blade in my good saw to make fittings. Just my two cents. Went to SNF yesterday and met Jack Phillips and Dick Navatril....Great guys and a great fly-in.....Ed G.
