I haven't..... but I did get a prop from Tennesee Props. WOW! what a quality
piece! It was made from 48 1/16th" laminations. yes thats right! 48 laminations.
Clear urethane leading edges and shipped to my door for $530.
In my opinion it's one of the best props out there for that price. The quality
rivals that of a certified wood prop.

Ken,
In answer to your inquiry of Hegy props I can say yes I have one on 41CC. It
is birch and is a very beautiful piece of workmanship. Mr Hegy and I decided a
72-42 would be the most efficient for a Piet with a 65 Continental. We are
happy with the performance. His price was $500 plus Fed Ex.

By the way, on another subject, have any of you noticed the total absence of
any discussion by our leaders,????????????????????????, Aopa, Eaa, Aarp,
Naacp, or any other of the nationals who are so dedicated, with the help of our
annuals, to helping us with all kinds of small problems, on the proposed Sport
Pilot ruling. Someone somewhere decided to sweep in under the rug for awhile.
Something's going on and I really don't like the scent of it. Better get our
Congressional address book out again and lick some stamps
Corky in La again, running out of time

Ken,
A friend of mine and pioneer (here) of homebuilding told me about Mr
Hegy... Since the first prop I bought from him they performed as
spected. Was the only brand of prop I bought... (the trike came
already with an IVO since we got it).
I got 5 propellers from Mr Hegy in 10 years for diferent projects, I
only got one (the forth one) that didnt had enough climb, talked to Mr
Hegy by phone and He asked me to send it back to have it repitched or
replaced, free of charge...
I told Him it was more expensive for me with the customs charges and
international airshipping, to send it back than to buy him a new
propeller, so I kept it and send him a check (a friends USA bank) for
the new prop (was my problem and choise, not his)... He send the new
one and never cashed the check...
Since he passed away I carved my last two propellers, I always wanted
to give it a try...
Is a great experience to build the plane, build the engine and carve
the propeller... Well the 1/2 VW engine didnt had the power at our
5,000 ft ASL grass strip, and was changed fo a Rotax 447, and of course
another prop was carved...
By the way I used the Cluton's book.
Hope his grandson learned and loves the prop carving, will be great to
have the same quality back...
Saludos
Gary Gower.

Gary,
I've also built three props using the Cluton's book. For a long time, I've
been considering building a Scimitar prop, using the method described in the
Eric Cluton's guidlines. Do you know anyone that built this Scimitar prop ??
