--> Pietenpol-List message posted by: "Caroll & Mara Holmstrom" <carollh@mninter.net> I am also looking into starting construction this winter. I came across an informative article by Ron Alexander regarding wood for aircraft construction. http://www.sportair.com/articles/Aircraft%20Wood%20-%20Part%20One.html I noticed the article mentioned that the Pietenpol used Western Hemlock for the spars. I did not see anyone mention that. Is anyone using Western Hemlock? Caroll in MN. Do not archive.
