This morning I visited with Charlie Becker of EAA Services. He reminded me
of the unofficial format of the airplanes that will be parked around the
Homebuilt headquarters. There is a new building to replace the previous
tent, and it is really on the flight line.
They are looking for "examples" of plans-built airplanes that have a
completed cost of (1) under $10,000, (2) $10,000 to $20,000, and (3)
$20,000 to $30,000. If you are planning to be at Oshkosh with your
Pietenpol, get in touch with Charlie at cbecker@eaa.org. The airplane must
have been built within the last 4 years (those $800 antiques of 1932 don't
offer today's dollar comparison).
I know a few Piets can come in at less than $10,000, and all of them (well,
maybe not John Dilatush's astronautic Rocky Mountain Piet) can come in just
a bit over $10,000.
I am assuming that the "cost" means materials.
Any takers?

Thanks for the information on my order. Hope Don had a good report.
Thanks to Jim as well for the photos. I've been enjoying looking at the
drawings.
