He reminded me of the unofficial format of the airplanes that will be parked around the Homebuilt headquarters. There is a new building to replace the previous tent, and it is really on the flight line. They are looking for "examples" of plans-built airplanes that have a completed cost of (1) under $10,000, (2) $10,000 to $20,000, and (3) $20,000 to $30,000. If you are planning to be at Oshkosh with your Pietenpol, get in touch with Charlie at cbecker@eaa.org. The airplane must have been built within the last 4 years (those $800 antiques of 1932 don't offer today's dollar comparison). I know a few Piets can come in at less than $10,000, and all of them (well, maybe not John Dilatush's astronautic Rocky Mountain Piet) can come in just a bit over $10,000. I am assuming that the "cost" means materials. Any takers?
