Hello Gang,
Just for curosity sake, has anyone tried or even
considered a little wider fuselage for that skinny
little Piet. Surely in all the hundreds of Piets built
or started, at least someone has thought about it or
maybe even done it. Say maybe 2" or so at the most.
That would make for a lot more squirming around room
inside the cockpit on those long voyages cross
country...you know, with those long range fuel tanks
installed. I realize that everything would have to be
sized up to accomodate the change and there would be
some extra weight, but it's an interesting thought.
The rear cockpit on the Piet is going to be about as
wide as my 1940 Porterfield, and it sure was a little
tight for comfort.
