Sorry, Bob, I misunderstood your question the other night.

The appropriate info for compression checks on ANY Continental engine 
can be found in TCM Service Bulletin:

SB03-3 DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TEST AND BORESCOPE INSPECTION PROCEDURES 
FOR CYLINDERS

It is available from TCMlink ( www.tcmlink.com ). If you can't find it, 
let me know off list, and I'll send you a copy.

I ran the numbers a few years back... I don't have them handy but I 
ended up using the larger struts for the front and the smaller for the 
rear. I terminated the lower ends with some milled 4130 solid blocks 
thet were threaded for forks from an Aeronca Champ.  The upper ends 
were terminated with 2024 solid aluminum blocks.
