Chuck, Bill See sold his tailwinds 4-5 years ago I think. I just moved to the airport here in june, so I am not real sure the time frame when he had them. I think one got destroyed by another tailwind when it taxied into the tail and chopped it up. The other one he bought already compleated I think. If I talk to him I will try to get some pictures to send you. It is hard to keep up with him because he is always buying and fixing then selling airplanes. The Jungster 1 I am building is not the Fisher kit Jungster. The one I am building is plans only and was designed by Rim Kaminskis in Los Angeles in 1957. It uses 100-150hp and is stressed to +9 -6 g's. I bought the project partially compleated in 2000 when dad was starting work on his piet, and finnaly have time and facilities to work on it. Dad tore his Corvair down today and found that the case is destroyed. The front main spun in the case and ruined it. The cylinders look to be servicable, and it looks like on the #3 cyl the head was leaking, possibly what was making it lean out intermititly. He thinks the way the crank fracture looks it might have been a factory defect. (magna flux, magna flux) Untill next time Shad P.S. Look up Jungster 1 on yahoo and you will find pics and info on the jungster, there is also a yahoo group for the jungster. --------------------------------- Get on board. Chuck When making these 'popsicle fittings' is it necessary to heat up the .090 metal strap with a torch before bending around the small tube? Yes. It took me a couple of times to get it right. Bend the .090" strap a s far as you can over a piece of 3/8" solid rod of some kind, like a punch or something, before you even start the welding. I could get it way past a 90 =BA bend, before I began the weld process. It is kind of difficult to keep the 3/8" radius, because it always wants to bend in half, as opposed to keeping the radius. Then weld it first at the top of the fitting, and heat it to dull r ed, as you bend it down around the rest of the 3/8" tube. after complete, you'l l have to ream the bushing for a 5/16" bolt. It's a good idea when you are cutting material for these fittings, to cut one or two extra 'Lollypop Fitti ngs', but leave the lower hole blank. You don't have to bend it up and complete the fittings, but at least you'll have the material ready to make another on e, if the incidence doesn't come out right. Chuck G. NX770CG
