I am illiterate when it comes to Piets (and e-mai!). If you can call at
257-883-9869 I can tell you what little I know and refer you to one of
Carl's friends who does know . If you send me your snail-mail address I
can send you a listing of the parts of one of the planes. They were was
assembled by a man in Chicago. Both projects are now located in
Huntsville, AL

Barbara,
Sorry to bother you again, but more questions on the two projects:
Where are you located and what's included in each of the projects, how
close are they to being completed. I am interested can you provide pics
and do you have a builders log from your hubby's build.
Why did he decide not to continue with the project he bought? Was
hubby a big man and did he build for his size or did he stay strictly to
pietenpol plans
Thanks
John

I have two Piet projects for sale. One was assembled by Ron Lustig
formerly of Chicago. My husband Carl Vought bought Ron's project about
three years ago and then decided to start from scratch on a Piet of his own.
Carl died July 10 of this year. I'm eager to sell each of the projects.
Contact me at 256-883-9869.

Bob FYI
I have expressed an interest in the project and am awaiting information
from Chet to open dialogue. I am hoping to hear from him soon whereby I will
be better suited to continue the process or allow the opportunity to pass me
by.
I look forward to hearing something soon.
But have no problem with your expressing your interests also.

My plans for the Ford version show ash engine mounts integral to the fuse.
The projects out there with continental or other engines don't seem to have
the "right" mount for the Ford.

If anyone takes a serious interest in one or both of the Piet projects in
Huntsville and wants someone to look at them and take photos, I'm sure I can
get Mark Langford to do that. Mark is an engineer, extremely knowledgeable
on homebuilts (but not necessarily on Piets), and would know what to look
for in materials and workmanship. He lives in Harvest, AL and works in
Huntsville, built and flies a Corvair-powered KR... one of the best out
there.
Contact me directly if you think you'd like for someone to look at the
projects.

My friend Mark is going by to take some pictures of what's in Carl's shop.
He knew Carl and says that every bit of the work is top-notch. There is a
Model A with stub exhausts hanging in the rafters that Mark says should be a
real gem, and of course the airframe that Carl started building will be
craftsman-class work.
When I get pictures or follow-up info I'll put them on my website. Barbara
deserves to get full value from Carl's efforts and someone will be getting a
great start on a Piet through Carl's work.

I certainly feel that she should get full value. Someone not interested in
the projects could set a fair market value for her.

I have a fusealoge and all the wing ribs for sale. I purchased a flying
Piet from Mrs Don Hicks in Alabama a few months back and have no need for
them. Let me know what you have to trade?
Also it takes 5G's to set off an ELT.

Subject: | Mountain Piet repair update |
Gentlemen,
There is progress in the right direction on the left wing panel and
center section rebuild of the Mountain Piet.
The wing panel spars are cut to size and marked with the rib locations.
The "Charlie Rubeck" ribs are ready to assume their post. I have fresh
T-88 and good motivation!
The center section spars are also cut to length, 36 inches. I decided
to go with Mr. Rewey's 3 ft center section and will build a similar
semi-circular cutout.
After two years of very little progress, I've decided to take an
incremental approach with this project. I'm setting very small goals
for each week so that something gets done. Who knows, I might just get
this thing in the air in '07.

I went through Mena in August and picked up a partially completed
short Piet from Charles Sizemore who lives outside Mena ( guess less
than 15 mi) on the OK line.side on highway 8. Got the fuselage on
gear,on tailskid, 28 ribs, 2 sets of tail feathers, one set covered,
plus a 64 corvair motor with prop hub installed and motor mount, cabine
struts and wing struts for $2300 Charles is an a&p at an airport around
there that refurbishes airplanes in the light air line class. Wish I had
known there was a project going on in Mena and I would have loved to
drop by for a look see.
